Bespoke furniture
for homes in
Lichfield.
Bespoke furniture for Lichfield homes, made by hand in Rugeley. We work with oak, walnut and ash to create freestanding pieces around your space and preferences.
For a commission in Lichfield, we begin with the furniture you already live with and the purpose of the new piece. Room photographs, approximate dimensions and finish references give us a useful starting point.
We make your furniture in Rugeley and agree delivery to your Lichfield address as part of the quote. Let us know about stairs or restricted access early. The workshop is private, so enquiries and design discussions start remotely.
Furniture shaped
around your
brief.
These are examples of the freestanding furniture we can discuss. Your piece is designed around its purpose, your dimensions and your choice of timber and finish.
Dining tables
Designed to your exact dimensions — whether that's a compact kitchen table or a statement piece for twelve.
Freestanding shelving
Shelving units designed around the books, objects and storage you need. We discuss room dimensions and access before agreeing the design.
Sideboards
Storage-led or statement — sideboards with drawers, doors, shelving, or a combination. Sized to your wall and finished in your choice of hardwood.
Home offices
Desks, shelving units and freestanding workspaces. We design around your equipment, storage needs and available room.
Why choose a
local maker
in Staffordshire?
-
Delivery discussed with your quote. Tell us your postcode and access requirements so we can confirm the arrangements for your piece.
-
Personal advice. Discuss your brief and timber preferences with us by email. Our workshop is private and is not open to visitors.
-
Supporting local craft. Kingsley Woodwork is a small, independent workshop. When you commission from us, you're supporting a local business in Staffordshire — not a factory overseas.
-
Measurements agreed before making. Share room measurements and photographs with your enquiry. We will discuss any further information needed before finalising the design.

Choosing materials for a Lichfield commission
Consider how the new furniture will sit alongside your flooring, existing timber and natural light. Our finishes page introduces timber and finish options; photographs of your room help us discuss the effect you want without assuming that every oak or walnut piece looks the same.
A painted cabinet with a hardwood top gives a different result from an entirely oiled hardwood piece. We agree materials, dimensions and finish before making your furniture, with the price and lead time confirmed in writing.
Explore our previous furniture commissions, wood and finish options and delivery guidance. Lead time is confirmed when we quote.
